Common Applications

  • Weather station display — BME280 + OLED + ESP32 showing temperature, humidity, pressure
  • Digital clock — DS3231 RTC + TM1637 4-digit display + Arduino
  • Sensor dashboard — 2.4" TFT + multiple sensors + Raspberry Pi or ESP32
  • Robotic arm control — PCA9685 servo driver + 6 MG996R servos + Arduino Mega
  • Smart energy monitor — ACS712 + 16×2 LCD + ESP32 with WiFi upload

How to Choose a Display

  1. Content type — text/numbers → LCD 16×2; icons/graphs → OLED; full colour → TFT
  2. Interface — I2C for fewer pins; SPI for faster refresh; parallel for fastest (but most pins)
  3. Power budget — OLED draws ~20mA at full brightness; e-ink draws near zero in standby
  4. Size — 0.96" OLED for compact builds; 3.5" TFT for touchscreen HMI panels
