The 7805A is a monolithic 3-terminal positive voltage regulator. It is designed to provide a fixed output voltage of 5V, making it an essential component for a wide variety of electronic applications.
Unlike standard regulators, the KIA7805A series features internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe operating area protection, making it virtually immune to blowouts under normal operating conditions. With adequate heat sinking, this device can deliver over 1A of output current.
The unit shown is the TO-220F (Full Pack/Isolated) version. This means the mounting tab is encased in plastic, eliminating the need for insulating washers when mounting to a heatsink, reducing assembly time and short-circuit risks.

How to Connect (Quick Guide):
